my new thoughts

Posted by jdubelgringo in you

this post pretains to one of my previous posts. The post about, how much I hate West Virginia. Well a fellow pupil (wont give any names…rocky) kind of showed me that West Virginia isnt as bad as other places. This is true, so i have to look at it rather then the glass being half empty… it really dosen’t madder because it’s moon shine is in the cup and i dont intend on drinking it( or consuming it or even touching it ).

West Virginia isn’t that bad, really. I hated this state, as well, when I was your age. And sometimes I still get tired of the same old thing and wish I could run away to a foreign country somewhere. I’ve almost moved out of state twice, but the pull to return is always greater than the pull to run away. “They say if you get far enough away, you’ll be on your way back home.” That’s a line from the song “Blind Love.”

Do some research and some travelling around the state. I guarantee you will find something you like about this state. If you’re a history lover, few states have a richer one than us.

And maybe you just need to see the state through some fresh eyes. I’m kind of proud of my skills as a photographer to make an otherwise boring place (WV) look exceptionally beautiful by focusing on the good points.

Here is a link to some of my pics. There are some from D.C. and Erie Lake, also, but if you click on the categories to the right and find West Virginia, that’ll narrow it down:

Well, I think that whole “glass is half-empty/half-full” question is loaded. I mean it depends… are you putting something into it or taking it out? Also, what is inside the cup… if it’s something I don’t want I want it gone, so it’s half-empty, if it’s something I like, it’s half-full. I am better than that stupid question hahaha… I’m gonna go be lonely for the rest of my life now.

Perhaps you’re like me, and once you have the option to leave this place and never look back, you’ll be more inclined to stay. I don’t know, I used to want to burn this place to the ground, and now I don’t really mind the idea of staying.

In other news, Rocky is going to be lonely for the rest of his life. Raise your hand if you knew that already.
